Beverly E. FurnessOriskany Falls-Beverly E. Furness, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, with the love and support of her family, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.She was born at the family home in North Brookfield, on November 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Hubert and Pauline Moran Blair. In July of 1958, at St, Joseph's Rectory, Bev was united in marriage to Raymond Furness. Their loving union lasted over 34 years until Ray's passing in 1992. She had worked at the former Sherwood Medical Facility in Oriskany Falls for 30 years. She was an avid bowler belonging to the Oriskany Falls Bowling Center's Monday Morning Coffee and Wednesday Night Bowling League. Most of all, Bev enjoyed every moment that she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and other family members. She will be remembered as a compassionate and loving person that earned her the nickname of "Neighborhood Mom." But most of all she will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and caring friend.Bev is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Mary and Mark Belfield, Shirley and Jack Litz; her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and his girlfriend Pam Martin; her brother Thomas Blair; seven grandchildren: six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Bev also leaves two special friends, Wanda Furness and Marge Hopkins. She was predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Pauline; her beloved husband, Ray; her sisters Shirley Maine and Christine Phillips; and her brother John Blair.\Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours for Bev on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 2-4 PM at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. Following the visitation, graveside funeral services will be conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Oriskany Falls, with the Rev.
