Betty J. Quinn Obituary
Betty J. Quinn, 83, of Valley Road, Madison, devoted mother and loving grandmother, died Wednesday, November 16th with her loving family by her side at the Lutheran Home in Clinton, NY.Betty is survived by her children; Kevin Quinn of Oriskany Falls, Shelley and Gary Robertson of Hamilton, Jim and Cathy Quinn of Sherrill, and Kelly and Trevor Snyder of Madison. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gary and Laura Robertson of New Woodstock, Nicole and Ryan Smith of Munnsville, Ryan Burdick of Williamsport, PA, Logan and Ethan Snyder of Madison, Sierra Quinn of Whitesboro, Katie Quinn of Camden, and Gary Bush and Angie Jacobs of Verona. Betty had seven great-grandchildren; Jameson, Landyn and Carter Smith; Tia and Vera Robertson; and Nicholas and Kendall Bush. She is predeceased by her husband, James Quinn, who passed away on July 26, 2002; and three brothers, Roy, Donny, and Ernie Landphere. Betty was born on February 22, 1933 to parents Harvey and Francis Landphere of West Winfield, NY. Betty married James in 1957 and moved to Madison in 1969. Betty worked for more than 25 years at Oneida Limited where she would always make it a point to get to work more than hour early to have coffee with her friends. In her later years, Betty was the dog control officer for the town of Madison which gave her so much joy. Betty is a breast cancer survivor, stroke survivor and had been on her own since she was 13 years old. She has always been a very private person.As a child Betty enjoyed roller-skating and horseback riding and continued her love of gardening, animals, and spending time with her German Shepard's throughout her life. The family would like to thank Betty's long-time friends, Sharon Ansonia, Joyce Rouse, Mary Lyons, Harold Schrepel, Tootie Andrews, and Sonya Snyder for their caring and devoted friendship. The family would also like to thank Betty's nurse, Wendy (Katie) at the Lutheran Home.In accordance with Betty's wishes, there will be a casual Celebration of Life in lieu of services, which will be held Sunday, November 27th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Oriskany Falls Legion. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
