. Beatrice Luretta (Pudney) (Abrams) Tuttle of Brookfield, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the home of her daughter Tamara Ione Freshour, in Evans, West Virginia, while on vacation. She was born on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Harold Stanley and Fannie Merle (West) Pudney. Beatrice graduated from Sherburne Central School in 1938. She attended the Berean Baptist Church in New Berlin when possible. In June of 1940, she married Edward John Abrams, at the Brookfield Methodist Church. They had two children, a son Gail Edward Abrams, and a daughter Barbara Jean (Abrams) Maine. While living in Brookfield, she became the caretaker for twelve Specials Needs Children from the Rome State School. Beatrice loved children and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Rebekah Assembly I.O.O.B. F. of the State of New York In 1958, she was the Noble Grand in the Beaver Valley Rebekah Lodge, 518. On January 30, 1960, she married Graydon Edward Tuttle in Brattleboro, Vermont. They had one daughter, Tamara Ione (Tuttle) (Gabree) Freshour. While living in Vermont, she graduated from Thompson School of Practical Nurses on October 31, 1965. Beatrice was employed by Linden Lodge in Battleboro, Vermont, and Vernon Green Nursing Homes in Vernon, Vermont. Graydon and Beatrice built their retirement home on Giles Road in Brookfield. She retired in 1985, later moving to Leland, North Carolina during the winter months to be closer to her brother , Vaughn Lewis Pudney, and to enjoy the warmer weather. On May 6, 2004, her husband, Graydon, passed away. Beatrice continued to live in Brookfield. She had a sharp mind, cared for herself, lived alone, loved western movies, and music. She was an amazing woman for the age of 96. She always had an adventurous spirit and a deep faith in God. Her hope was to live to be 100 and to appear on the Today Show. Beatrice is survived by her children, Gail Edward Abrams of Brookfield, and Tamara (Tuttle) (Gabree) Freshour of Evans, West Virginia; her brother, Vaughn Lewis Pudney, and his wife, Barbara Emerson Pudney, of Winnabow, North Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard "Dick" and Ethel (Tuttle) Perkins, of South New Berlin, Elizabeth (Perry) of Columbus, NY; sisters-in-law Gladys (Tuttle) Grems, of DeFuniak, FL, and Lor'e Tuttle, of Cortland: and one son-in-law, Ralph Otto Maine of Leonardsville. Beatrice was very proud of grandsons and granddaughters: Gail Edward Abrams II, of Brookfield, Gerald Edward and Rachel Abrams, of Brentwood, TN, Tara-Lyn Gradina (Gabree) and Marshall Burdette Spencer, of WV, Travis and CrystraL Gabree Evans, of WV, Drema Freshour, of Evans, WV, John Howard and Jennifer Maine, of West Winfield, Raymond Edward Maine, of West Edmeston, and Margo Maine of, Leonardsville. Beatrice is also survived ny numerous great granddaughter, great grandsons, nieces, nephews, and a great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Merle Pudney; a daughter-in-law, Ida May (Tuttle) Abrams; two sons-in-law, Michael Gabree and Mark Freshour; a granddaughter, Melinda May (Abrams) LeFevre; a daughter, Barbara Jean (Abrams) Maine; her first husband, Edward John Abrams; her second husband, Graydon Edward Tuttle; a twin sister, Barbara Florence (Pudney) Huyck and her husband, Rexford Huyck; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd "Buddy" and Arlene Monroe; a grandson, Randy Maine; brothers-in-law Harold Tuttle, Marvin Tuttle, Kenneth Tuttle, Samuel Tuttle, Gordon Tuttle, and Bernard Tuttle; and sisters-in-law, Arlene (Tuttle) (Lucy) Monroe Memorial service will be held on May 24, 2017 at 2 PM at the Berean Baptist Church, New Berlin, There will be a visitation from 1-2PM prior to the service.
