Barbara L. GenskeWaterville-Barbara L. Genske,87, a resident for the past five years at the Waterville Residential Care Center, passed away peacefully surround with the love of her family at her side on January 6, 2021 at the center,She was born in Hamilton on March 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Pete and Geraldine Omelion. Barb was raised in Waterville and was a graduate of Waterville Central High School. In 1959, she married Donald J. Genske, Sr., who predeceased her in 2008. Prior to living in Richfield Springs, she had lived many years in Bridgewater. Barb had worked many years at the former Harding Nursing Home as a Nurse's Aide. A care giver by nature, she mostly enjoyed her role as a stay-at-home mom, caring for her husband and children. She truly loved and will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Barb is survived by her children: Carol Genske, and her companion, Brant Madaras of Richfield Springs, Donald J. Genske Jr. and his wife Patricia of Bridgewater, and Donn Chilson and his wife Karen of Leonardsville, Diane Land, Carlon Chilson, Dale Chilson and Cheryl Chilson all of Georgia; a sister-in-law Sharon Genske of Madison; her beloved grandchildren: Stacey Ostrander, Steven Ostrander Jr., Nicole Scanlon, Amanda Scanlon, Christina Chilson, Eric Chilson, Michael Chilson, along with Elisha, Jacob, Dawn and Charles; and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces Kim, Kelly and Kyle.She was predeceased by her parents Pete and Geraldine, her beloved husband of 49 years Donald Sr., her beloved daughter Susan Genske, and her sister-in-law Judith Matteson.Barb's family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of the Waterville Residential Care Center for the wonderful compassionate care given to their mother over the last five years.Graveside funeral services will be held in the Spring at a time to be announced. Interment will be made in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Barb's family have entrusted her care to the Paul Funeral Home of Brookfield.
