Albert W. Roe, Jr.Madison- Albert W. Roe, Jr., 76, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, with his sons: Gene, Jason, Josh and Jeremy, with their love and support by his side, at Crouse Medical Center.He was born in Stamford, on October 6, 1942, the son of the late Albert W. Roe, Sr. and Jean M. Fisher Roe. He was raised on the family farm in New Berlin and attend school there. He then entered and proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, Al had worked over 30 years at the former Webb and Sons Lumber Company, now Curtis Lumber. Al co-owned a lawn care business, with his son Jeremy. On October 8, 1976, Al married Joan M. Miller in New Berlin. Joan passed away on March 23, 1998, ending their loving marriage of almost 22 years. Al had also worked over 35 years with his brother, Phil Roe, in Phil's deer processing business and assisting with his snow removal business. Al devoted himself to work, but he allowed time for family. He especially enjoyed NASCAR Racing, and was a Jeff Gordon fan. He was also an avid spectator along with his sons at the Utica Rome Speedway.He is survived by his sons: Eugene Roe, of Watertown, Jason Roe , of Hamilton, Josh Roe, of Brookfield and Jeremy Roe, of Madison; his step children: Jean Newbold, of Florida, June Maldon, of Georgia and Jim Maldon, of New York City; his brother, Phil Roe and his wife Denise, of Hamilton, and his brother Larry Roe, of Georgia; and his sister, Gloria Jenkins, of Sherburne. Al is also survived by 3 beloved grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will held on Friday, August 23, 2019, at 3 PM at the South Edmeston Cemetery, located on State Route 8, South Edmeston. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 23, from Noon until 2 PM, at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
