Ada PistelloEast Syracuse-Ada Anna Marie Pistello, 70, entered into eternal rest on, Saturday, August 11, 2018, with the love and support, of her husband, peter, and other family members, at Francis House, following a courageous battle against cancer.She was born in Calvi Risorta, Italy, on July 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna Leone D'Elia. At the age of five, Ada's family moved to the United States and settled in Syracuse. She was a graduate of Henninger High School. In 1995, in East Syracuse, Ada married Peter J. Pistello, Jr. Ada was a "people person," and until her illness, Ada worked at the East Syracuse Wegmans, as a cashier. She previously had work 17 years at Red Lobster, as a hostess. She loved "old movies" on the Turner Classic Network. She also spent many beautiful days, just relaxing on her back deck, and enjoying the sun and her yard. Ada always loved family gatherings and the joy they gave her. Most of all, she was a devoted wife to Peter, a cherished grandmother, to Nichole, a cherished great grandmother, to McKenzie, and devoted family member, who will be missed by all.Ada is survived by her beloved husband Peter; her children, John Christian, Christine Christian, Shannon Bitz, Shelly (Mark) Aljets, and Sara (Joe) Hall; her sisters, Flora (Ted) Gilner and Wanda Haupt; her brothers, Bernard (Esther) D'Elia, Frank (Sheila) D'Elia, Anthony D'Elia, and John (Teresa) D'Elia; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Ada was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Anna, and her brother, Orlando D'Elia.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ada, on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 229 West Yates Street in East Syracuse. There will be no prior visitation. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Jamesville.
